The Sebastian K
Since 2020 we have a new ship, the SEBASTIAN K, to expand our human rights monitoring in the Aegean Sea. The Sebastian K is a 14.48 m long sailing yacht, which was moored in Licata, Sicily until August 2020.
As with the Mare Liberum, we would like to draw attention to the dangerous escape route between Greece and Turkey with the Sebastian K. Not only on Lesvos but also on and around the other Aegean islands the situation for refugees is catastrophic and violent pushbacks are taking place throughout the whole region. While we remain present with the MARE LIBERUM on and around Lesvos, we want to sail with the Sebastian K to the South Aegean and independently observe and report on the situation for refugees on Chios, Samos, Leros and Kos.
